If you are looking for an adventure in teaching, then, we have the answer for you. The Northwest Normal University High School has several exciting opportunities for qualified teachers of English, TOEFL, SAT, SAT II and AP.

Who Are We?
The Northwest Normal University High School is in the city of Lanzhou in the province of Gansu. Find a map of China and we’re right in the geographical centre of the country along the old Silk Road. Our city is steeped in history – just a short journey to the Terracotta Soldiers and the Great Wall of China. Our school has been in existence for over 110 years and we pride ourselves as the best high school in the province and one of the top schools in the country. Our student body has over 3,000 eager minds who will graduate and go on to the top schools in China and around the world.

Who Are We Looking for?
The ideal person will have a passion for teaching and a love for helping students. We’d like you to be a Native English speaker, have a university degree and teaching experience will be great. For English teachers you will also have a TESL, TEFL, TESOL or CELTA teaching certificate.

What Will You Teach?
For the English classes, you will help students develop their communications skills in English with particular focus on Listening and Speaking.
For TOEFL and SAT preparation classes, you will provide foundational instruction for the students to achieve success on these tests before they enrol in universities overseas.
For SAT II and AP classes, you will utilize your expertise in specific subject areas for detailed instruction and test preparation. We are currently recruiting for teachers of History, Economics, Computer Science, or Chemistry.

What We Have to Offer?
Our generous compensation package includes a base salary of 3,500 to 10,000 RMB per month commensurate with experience, a furnished apartment, breakfast, Chinese lessons, 300 RMB monthly meal allowance and a return flight from your home country to Lanzhou. Plus, we will offer you a travel allowance, so you can explore the exciting sights of China during your holidays.
